The Shire - [3 sub-boards]
The Shire is a peaceful and bountiful land in Eriador in northwestern Middle-earth. The race of people known as Hobbits live there, largely forgotten by the outside world. The Shire is 40 leagues (120 miles) across from the Far Downs on its western edge to the Brandywine River on the east. From north to south it stretches 50 leagues (150 miles) from the northern moors to the southern marshes.
Rivendell is the realm of Elrond. Much of the history and lore of the Elves is preserved in Rivendell and it is a place of peace and beauty. Rivendell is a deep valley in eastern Eriador near the Misty Mountains. It was hidden from view in the heather-covered moors. There is a steep, zig-zagging path leading down into the valley. Fir trees grow on the higher slopes and beech and oak trees grow farther down in the valley.
The Misty Mountains - [1 sub-board]
The Misty Mountains are a mountain range, running for 1280 kilometres from north to south, between Eriador and the valley of the Great River, Anduin, and from Mount Gundabad in the far north to Methedras in the south.

The Kingdom of Angmar was the realm founded by the evil Lord of the Ringwraiths, who became known as the "Witch-king of Angmar" in 1300 in the far north of the Misty Mountains, with the sole purpose of weakening the northern kingdom of Arnor. The land is known in part for its cold weather, mostly snowing. It is ruled loosely by Cindralic, the dark elf who has no sworn allegiance to Sauron, but has no good will towards the world of men.

Lothlorien is the home of Galadriel and Celeborn and their people, the Galadhrim. It is the only forest of mallorn-trees in Middle-earth, and thus it is known as the Golden Wood. Lothlorien is a place where time seemed to stand still, a waking dream of the ancient days of the Elves that would soon fade forever from Middle-earth. Lothlorien is located in the Vales of the Anduin, between the Great River and the Misty Mountains. In the mountains north of Lothlorien is the great Dwarf-realm of Khazad-dum which became a place of evil called Moria. South of Lothlorien is Fangorn Forest, where the Ents dwell. Eastward across the Anduin is Dol Guldur, a stronghold of Sauron in the southern part of Mirkwood..
Mirkwood is the great forest east of the Anduin in Wilderland. It was originally called Greenwood the Great until the shadow of Sauron fell over the woods. The forest became dark and filled with evil creatures, but the great Woodland Realm of the Elves endured. Mirkwood is the largest forest in Middle-earth in the Third Age. From north to south the forest covered approximately 425 miles. From east to west it is about 200 miles across at its widest point. On the southeastern side of the forest is the East Bight, a great clearing that cut into the woods. At this point the distance across Mirkwood was the shortest - about 75 miles - and it is known as the Narrows of the Forest.
Erebor - [1 sub-board]
Mountain realm of the Dwarves captured by Smaug the Dragon. The Lonely Mountain is a tall, isolated mountain in the far northeast of Wilderland. It stands near the edge of Mirkwood, about 50 miles south of the Grey Mountains and about 125 miles west of the Iron Hills. The Lonely Mountain was the realm of the Kings under the Mountain. The first King was Thrain I, who came to the Lonely Mountain in 1999 after escaping from the Balrog of Khazad-dum. Thrain discovered the fabulous jewel called the Arkenstone at the roots of the mountain. The Dwarves of the Lonely Mountain created new works and began to prosper.
Range of hills in northeastern Middle-earth. The Iron Hills are isolated in the middle of an empty region about 125 miles east of the Lonely Mountain and Mirkwood. The range stretches about 200 miles from west to east. Near the western end, the Redwater flows southward from the hills to join the River Running. On the eastern end, a spur of hills curves north and then back westward forming a hook at the end of the range. The Iron Hills are a major source of iron ore in Middle-earth. Dwarves may have mined the Iron Hills as early as the First Age. At one time the Old Forest Road through Mirkwood - then called the Great Dwarf Road - is said to have extended northeastward as far as the Iron Hills.

Fangorn Forest is a deep, dark woodland that grows beneath the southern Misty Mountains, under the eastern flanks of that range. It gained notoriety as the habitat of the Ents in the Third Age. The forest, known as Entwood in Rohan, was named after the oldest Ent, Fangorn.
Isengard is a stronghold guarding the Gap of Rohan at the southern end of the Misty Mountains. The impregnable Tower of Orthanc stands within the walls of Isengard. Isengard was originally an outpost of Gondor, but in the later part of the Third Age it was home to the Wizard Saruman.
Main town in Rohan and site of the royal court. Edoras wis located at the foot of the White Mountains, which formed the southern border of Rohan. The town stands on a green hill at the mouth of the valley of Harrowdale. At the summit on a green terrace is Meduseld, the great hall of the Kings of Rohan.

Minas Anor - the Tower of the Sun - was established as a stronghold by Anarion, son of Elendil, and over time it became the greatest city in Gondor. As the threat from Mordor increased, the City was renamed Minas Tirith - the Tower of Guard.
Capital city in the early days of Gondor, Osgiliath is located on the Great River Anduin, with buildings on both banks of the river. Minas Tirith is about 15 miles from Osgiliath on the western side of the Anduin. On the eastern side is the land of Ithilien between the river and the borders of Mordor.
Ithilien is a fair, green region of Gondor on the borders of Mordor. North of Ithilien ae the hills of the Emyn Muil and swamplands of the Wetwang the Dead Marshes. The River Poros form the southern boundary of Ithilien. Ithilien is once again falling under the land of darkness as strange creatures have been spotted roaming its borders.

Testing this out to see if the description makes the board go back to normal. Hopefully it will cause I really do hate having to debug coding and this is the only explanation I can think of for it.
Mount Doom, also known as Orodruin, and Amon Amarth is a volcano in Mordor where the One Ring was forged and destroyed in Sammath Naur, the Cracks of Doom, a fiery chasm within the mountain.
