While Gollum has a bit of trouble trying to figure out what a plot is I know exactly what it is, so I'll tell you about Gollum for him. Due to Gollum’s years spent under the One Ring’s corruption he has developed a kind of dissociative identity disorder. His two sides are called Smeagol, his real name when he was a Hobbit, and Gollum, a name given to him because of his gurgling coughs. Smeagol is the “good” guy of the pair but often goes along with what Gollum suggests. While Gollum is hard and cold, Smeagol tends to be a bit more light-hearted and loveable. He’s eager-to-please, hence the reason he does as Gollum says, trying to please the darkness hiding within him. It’s said that Smeagol vaguely remembers love and friendship from his time as a hobbit, but no one can tell for sure due to the instability of his multiple personality disorder. Don’t get me wrong, Smeagol is still a nasty little creature, but not as nasty as Gollum. Gollum, the “bad” guy, is a slave to the Ring and will kill anyone who tries to take it. He’s harsh and cold, unlike the goofy Smeagol who sings about fish. The two personalities, as if they were one, often quarrel with one another forming an odd love/hate relationship which resembles the love and hate Gollum feels for both himself and the Ring. --- I'm up for anything! --- ~Silence
